I just wanted to write this as I am sitting in Hong Kong airport thinking back to all the events that have transpired over the past 4 weeks and it’s been an incredible journey.
I’ve had experiences which can only be described as life changing and challenges that I thought would stretch me, which they did, but in a way that allowed me to grow and expand as well.
Some of my favourite experiences include shooting downtown in New York City, the Billionaire Bootcamp day 6 party on the beach, shooting with the amazing team Aleesha put together in Los Angeles, an unforgettable night of mayhem orchestrated by mr Kam in Toronto, the intensity and charm of a Tokyo diner Shabu Shabu, an evening with new friends, old friends and family in Hong Kong.
The sun is setting outside and the temperature is finally coming down. Of all the places I’ve been, Hong Kong’s mass transit system is by far the most efficient and effective I have seen anywhere in the world. Just thought I’d mention it.Read the rest of this entry »

Ok, so I’ve just returned from an evening out with some great friends and together we went to see the live production of Ben Hur at the O2 Arena in London. I first saw an advert for this back in March and I knew even then that the idea of seeing a live chariot race would be something to behold. Without hesitation I ordered a bunch of tickets.
The result, well, even if you find slow story lines a little dull, let me tell you that there is no way on earth you wouldn’t have gawped at the sheer skill, grandeur and spectacle that was the culmination of the show. The finale chariot race was quite possible one of the most amazing feats of choreography, stuntmanship, story and audacity I’ve seen in a stage show yet, and believe me, I’ve seen some of the worlds best shows already.
I salute those who had the imagination to come up with the movie in the first place, that inspired others to recreate the event so that some of us may see this with our own eyes.

The other night I was driving along speaking to a film making friend of mine and we stumbled upon the aptly named term The Humble Inquisitor. Sounds like a character out of some spoof Monty Python-esq type comedy, and it could well be, but what I was pointing across at the time, was how to win friends and learn from people who are more knowledgeable than yourself. In life, no one knows everything, and when you think you’ve reached a point in your life, career, relationship where you know it all, then that is the time you need most to go and seek out someone who might know more.

The events over the weekend really got me thinking about patterns and how we are all living in this world which is seemingly chaotic at best, but is really run on models and patterns. You wake up, go to work, come home, sit down, eat and go to bed. Somewhere in between you might throw in a few nights out to see friends, then you repeat the process week after week without random interjection. Everything we do in life is a pattern, from the way you brush your teeth, to the decision strategy you employ to cross busy roads. For the most part this works really well, after all, we need structure to enable us to live our lives in the best possible efficiency, however you must also be self aware enough to shake it up and do something different from time to time.Read the rest of this entry »
