As I sit here writing this, my mind is flickering between all the things that have happened in the recent past and just wondering how much of all this contributes to my future and ultimately to my contribution to society and my family, not to mention my own personal fulfilment.
I've noticed that in life, everything I do and go for, I do it with extreme drive and I always go for number one, and this lead to me thinking about the significance of aiming high vs. aiming for just ok, or as in the title suggests, the Number 1 vs. Number 2 mentality.
So think about this for a second, are you a number 1 or a number 2?
I'm not saying that you have to be number 1, no, on the contrary. What I am saying, is that you are deadly honest with yourself and if you are a number 2, be the best number 2 you can be in your world and your reality.

Sometimes when you are striving to get somewhere, you often times don’t really know what you are doing, and through a series of trial and error, you get somewhere you are happy with. This would probably involve making mistakes and correcting them, and throughout all these trials, you would have learnt some really valuable lessons. Recently I rediscovered something which I recognised as a key to my past success. It is only through this realisation now, that I can become aware of it, and apply it with volition in the future.
What is this key I hear people asking; well it’s the power of Extreme Focus.
When I say this, I don’t mean focussing on something 95%, I mean focussing on this 100%, even when you are sleeping. You might think it ridiculous to even be focussing on something when you are sleeping, but I can assure you, you can teach your mind to do this.

A lot of people strive all their lives to achieve certain goals, but did you ever stop to think about what that really means for you? What are you ultimately trying to do and what is your purpose for being here on planet earth? I’m sure we’ve all asked this question to ourselves before. The long and short of it comes down to personal values. If you image your motivation like a sine wave and the bottom of the wave is the lowest point of a goal and the top is the achievement of a goal, then you can see that everytime you aim for something and achieve it, your motivation drops off again and wonder what to do next. All your goals are there only to satisfy the higher positive intention which is the fulfilment of your core values.

You know that 90% of an iceberg lies underneath the surface of the water and the term “tip of the iceberg” is generally used on a problem of difficulty, meaning that the visible trouble is only a small manifestation of a much bigger issue. So often the problems we face in life are only manifestations of a much larger problem, and often aren’t even related. What might take years of “soul searching” in order to find resolution might take an experienced life coach to ascertain with clever questioning and intuitive digging. At least you’ve identified that there is an iceberg ahead, and not too late too, unlike the victims of the Titanic. This already gives you more of a head start than those people who simply go from one issue to another, crashing and burning each time, compounding their mistakes and making their lives miserable. As is said before, what you focus on, you will receive.

What is the definition of a soap drama? Well, the term has been described as the more naturalistic, unglamorous primetime drama serials such as East Enders or Coronation Street. What differentiates these types of dramas from other television programs is the open-ended nature of the narrative with stories which can span several episodes. In language, the phrase “soap opera” is also used as a metaphor that can be applied to any situation, real or imagined, that appears to be overly laced with emotion and contains what appear to be unlikely dramatic twists.Quite often people are glued for periods of time to their television sets, emotionally attached to the outcome of a particularly gripping storyline. It’s as if the lives of these characters provide them with more emotionally fulfilment than anything in their own lives!Wake up and be the lead character in your own soap. One of the things I hear a lot of time from people is that they don't really know what they want out of life. In fact, not only do they have no idea, they often misrepresent what they want with thoughts and ideas that are vague and unclear.Fundamentally what you focus on in life is what you get. If you’ve ever sat down and wondered why you are, where you are in life, I would always say to you, “it’s because you wanted to be where you are in that moment of time”. If you wanted something else, or to be somewhere else enough, you’d be there. What should be understood is that the causes of where you are might well be from inaction rather than action, and often times people end up in a situation because they did not want the better option as it required more energy and they did not want to expend the energy to get there.Read the rest of this entry »

I'm really excited about the future. There's lots of really interesting things planned for the next 12 months and there are going to be more things that I can help other people with in the near future. One of the directions which my life seems to be heading is in the way of helping other people achieve great success in their lives and this is something I wanted to do to empower people and give back some of the knowledge I have learned and used to create my life as it is.Through my own personal development I have learned so many things about people, success, life and beyond. These learning’s are often masked in the complexities of life, so much so that we ignore or are blind towards them.It is only through self discovery and future insights into ones own mind can you achieve even greater levels of success and ultimate happiness that is so powerful and overwhelming that it seeps out and touches all the people around you.
