I’m thinking back to a movie I’ve seen a couple of times called Big Fish. In this movie, the protagonist is a character that finds himself looking for more in life and embarks on a journey to discover the world around him. One quote which I’m thinking of in particular goes like this: “Has it ever occurred to you that maybe you're not too big? That maybe this place is just too small?”, Edward Bloom, the main character asks this question of Karl, a giant.
At the times when we become seekers and begin on our own journeys, we start to expand our experiences in life and consequently our minds expand. Even a simple holiday to an unknown culture will inevitably expand your mind through the experiences you will gain from being in that foreign land.
One of the most difficult things about moving forward in life is that more often than not, there are people holding you back. In fact, it is often the case that there are many more people holding you back, than there are those pulling you forward. I’ve heard this from many people, and I’ve personally experienced this as well.

So today I’ve been attending the Ultimate Marketing Seminar run by Think Big Education and endorsed by Chris Howard. It’s been a pretty good day so far and really inspiring again to hear from knowledgeable people speaking from the mind through to the techniques.
Listening to the speakers really gave me a good old refresher on some basic foundation marketing knowledge, and it also highlighted to me that we often time get so wrapped up in our work or lives, that sometimes we forgotten about some of the basic things which also need to be addressed.
One of the speakers at this event was Daniel Wagner, an internet entrepreneur, totally passionate about teaching people how to succeed in business online. It was both a refreshing and candid approach to presenting, at times, even tears were present as he recounted his story up to present day, with his children in the audience listening. This was his largest presenting gig to this date, and it was something he had put out into the universe as something he wanted to do, and today, he achieved it.

The events over the weekend really got me thinking about patterns and how we are all living in this world which is seemingly chaotic at best, but is really run on models and patterns. You wake up, go to work, come home, sit down, eat and go to bed. Somewhere in between you might throw in a few nights out to see friends, then you repeat the process week after week without random interjection. Everything we do in life is a pattern, from the way you brush your teeth, to the decision strategy you employ to cross busy roads. For the most part this works really well, after all, we need structure to enable us to live our lives in the best possible efficiency, however you must also be self aware enough to shake it up and do something different from time to time.Read the rest of this entry »
