Dress well and feel good, cultivate the attitude of excellence12 May 2009
I get a lot of comments from people for my impeccable style and fashion sense (ahem, lol), whether they are right or wrong doesn’t matter. What does matter is that I feel great about the way I look, and if that means dressing well all the time, then I will do that. The reason behind this blog post is simple; it’s all about cultivating that attitude of excellence, and putting yourself in peak state all the time. One way of doing this is just by dressing well. Just by feeling good about yourself and looking good, you are immediately put in a state of confidence about your appearance, and this confidence will transmute into your behaviour and also into whatever activity you are doing. This also lets other people know that you are someone who takes care of yourself. After all, if you can’t take care of yourself, how do you expect someone to trust you to take care of them or their interests? This attitude of excellence should be transferred into everything you do. It’s probably true that most of us are not inventors, and so in whatever we are doing, we are simply doing something that has been taught to us, or we have learnt from some information source. This means that there are also other people doing the same thing as you. So how do you set yourself apart? You become the best at doing that thing you are doing. Be excellent about it.Another quick way to start cultivating this attitude is in your body language. You can start feeling strong confident just by the way you hold your body. Think about how a depressed person holds their body and assume that position now. Doesn’t it feel like you could move into a state of depression yourself? Now, hold your body strong, chest up and imagine the most confident you. Do you think you could possible feel depressed when you hold yourself life this? No, you can’t. So start with this as another way to bring an attitude of excellence into your life.
