In July 2004, after successfully setting up and running several online gambling portals, I decided to start my own company called Lady Luck Media.
I had first started building websites ever since I got my first real job. Even back then I found ways to increase my income by part time web design work. I created my first website for CompCom, a small IT consultancy.
Since then, I broadened my design skills, from learning to write HTML, to Flash animation design. With these skills, I managed to get pieces of work here and there, until one day I decided to create Casino Man, my single biggest project to date.
After 2 years of solid development, using high end database design and asp coding, I had built a site of over 3000 pages with a fully functional CMS system.
That however wasn't the major turning point in the founding of Lady Luck Media. It still needed the elements of marketing expertise to make the site successful, and above all, earning an income. Another year passed, learning low level search engine optimisation techniques, conventional marketing, internet marketing and applying it to a working website.
It wasn't long before results were seen and very soon after that I found I was suddenly earning more than my salary. This was the big career change. Lady Luck Media was founded, and since then I have managed to quadruple the revenues of Lady Luck Media in the space of just 1.5 years.
I'm extremely excited about the prospects for my company. Already there have been many significant developments, and I have been giving much consideration to finding a partner for the business.
These days Lady Luck Media has 2 operating models. Following the success of Casino Man and it's subsidiary sites, one aim is to expand and grow the network of gambling information and marketing portals. The other side to the business is to develop a steady and reputable client base of design clients.
It is my hope and will that one day Lady Luck Media will become an established and reputable media organisation with interests in all forms of media marketing including television, Internet and film entertainment.
